About Palmavera
Palmavera has evolved out of a shared passion for the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, its food and way of life.
Palmavera is an ancient Nuraghic ruin close to the Catalan town of Alghero dating back to 1400BC. The company was named after this site as it is such an important landmark and reflects the island’s history whose passing civilizations have informed so much of how the Sardinian people live and their foods.
Palmavera source the best of Sardinia’s regional, artisan foods sourced directly from small Sardinian producers and produce our own award winning, single estate extra virgin olive oil from a small family owned grove on the west coast of Sardinia.
Palmavera advocate the principles of Slow Food and through our commercial enterprise endeavour also to help promote and protect the heritage of Sardinian foods and their traditions. Our products are ‘good, clean and fair’. The foods taste good, are produced in a way that is clean for our planet and our bodies and we trade fairly with the producers and our customers. A number of our products are listed in the Slow Food’s ‘Ark of Taste’.
We retail online via our web shop and at food fairs and select markets. We also supply delicatessens and restaurants.
