About our ... BreadMany of the traditional breads of Sardinia are oven-crisped breads, that were originally made to keep well for long periods by shepherds away at pasture.
The most ubiquitous on the island is Pane Carasau which is also known as 'Carta da musica' or music sheet bread.
In Sardinia this wafer thin bread is served with every meal or softened in stock or wine and used like lasagne layered with tomato sauce and topped with heaps of pecorino cheese. It is also served as 'posh crisps', drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt or served with cheese and salame.
