Honey

About our ... HoneyOur honeys are derived from the nectar of native wild flowers in the beautiful, unpolluted meadows and hills of Sardinia.
In Sardinia, bee keeping and honey production were historically a supplement to the shepherds' income and food and wild bees were kept within cork bark in the pastures where they tended their sheep.
In the last 30 years more conventional methods of bee husbandry have been introduced by new generations of keepers, but the bees still collect their nectar from the native wild flowers and it is the unique natural flora and habitat of Sardinia that give the honeys their distinctive flavours.
Honeys are traditionally enjoyed simply with bread and also cheese as well as in cooking and for medicinal purposes. Palmavera have selected Sardinian honeys that have been cold extracted and are unpastuerised and unfiltered.
